Papa Rock BBQ Catering, Sauces & Seasonings

I get excited about all the products I get to review, but this one I was especially excited for. With my new change in Direction of trying to be a more Christian based business if you will. This one was right up my alley. Papa Rock BBQ Catering, Sauces & Seasonings is a Christian based family business based in a small town in Missouri with a population of 55 (at least that is what the sign says on their website). Yes 55, no that is not the speed limit either. This family not only does BBQ but they have a catering business as well, and you can imagine that it is some good food that is being catered. They sent me a line of their sauces that I will break down each one here. Let’s get too it.

Papa Rock BBQ Catering, Sauces & Seasonings

Big Daddy’s Paste.

Great thick, sauce with a smoky flavor. Sometimes sauces can be a little too saucy if that makes sense. Tomato based sauce, that is Jordan Approved (Jordan being my middle son, 14)

Carolina’s Finest

If you are from the Carolina’s, then you know all about Vinegar based sauces. And this one must live up to its name of being the Finest. This sauce is good for mopping on your meat while smoking, or for dipping (which is what I used it for). On a side note, I used this sauce in my 1st ever Competition Pulled Pork BBQ Chili, and place 3rd at my company’s chili cook off. This one is Judges Approved (judges of the chili Cook off)

DJ Rick Murphy’s

Not sure as to who this DJ Rick Murphy is, but if he is spinning the beats as good as this sauce is, this dude can rock out!!!! Caramelized Cola based Sauce? This is a new one on me, but man does it work. Thick sauce that like to stay in place until you take a bite. They say this one might work on Pork, I think they might be on to something. This one is Dallas Approved (Dallas being my oldest Son, 18)

Phil-en The Fire

This is my go to sauce. I know it has fire in the name but it is the perfect blend of sweet & heat. Not at all overpowering, just perfect. This is a tomato based sauce as well, and it’s not as thick as the DJ Rick Murphy’s or Big Daddy’s Past. It loves to run once you pour it on the sandwich. They named this one after a Family friend, great tribute!!! This one is Brian, Lincoln, and London Approved. (Brian being me, Lincoln being my youngest son, 12. London being my youngest Daughter, 10)

Shotgun Sally’s

Well I must say that this one really surprised me. I wasn’t sure about the whole pineapple thing, but man did they pull this one off. I see why my wife and oldest daughter loved this one so much. Made with sweet & sassy pineapple, with a hint of vinegar and other spices. My wife has already stated that we need to place an order for about 10 cases of this stuff. This has been Whitney and Paris approved (Whitney being my wife and Paris is my oldest Daughter, 11) And if I can find the video my wife did with her endorsement of this sauce, I will post it.

Rock Dust

This one rub was a great product for just about anything you want to put it on. I put it on a rack of ribs and man it was awesome. It just added a slight smokiness flavor to it on top of the smoke for the wood. You should check out their website for the recipe they have for a dip using this rock dust.

The pro’s I have already listed everything with each product. The con’s? Well, we are out of Phil-En the fire and Shotgun Sally’s. So, I guess that is a good thing that they were so good they were gone quick.

Overall: Man where do I begin, all these products were so great and I can see that the Papa Rock Family put their heart and soul into each batch they make. Interesting story on this company. As I stated before they are a Christian Based Family business. The name “Papa”, it stands for God our father. The name “Rock”, stands for He is our rock. They pray over every product they create and every event they cater. Their hope is to glorify God in everything they do, and I will say they are doing a good job of it. Go check out their website http://www.paparock.com/ and check out their Facebook page www.facebook.com/paparockbbq And be sure if you need an event catered, you give these guys a call. Thank you to the family at Papa Rock for allowing me and my family to review your products, and thanks to you all reading this. Have a great day, smoke on and God Bless.
